The Rummy game is one of the popular card game betting Indians. This game is played with two decks of cards with a total of two Jokers. To make sure the win, the player needs to show a valid section of cards, and picking and discarding cards is the more important part. 

One pile is a closed deck, where you are unable to see the card that he is picking, while the other is an open deck that is formed by the cards discarded by the players. Now a big point about this game is if you want to a big win in the Rummy Card game then you need to set your cards in valid sequences and sets.

In Rummy game, the cards in each suit rank low to high starting with Ace to King. Between Ace and King, you will get 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, Jack, and Queen. 

Now let’s understand the points system. Ace, Jack, Queen, and King each have 10 points. Other cards except these four cards have the same value as per their number. For example, 3 cards will have 3 points

How to Form Sequences?

Okay, let’s understand the formation and sequences. In rummy, the sequence is important, and in this case, you need to set the group of three and more consent cards of the same suit. 

Now, you can form two types of sequences: 

• A pure sequence 
• An impure sequence 

To win the game of Rummy, you need to complete one sequence. 

Pure Sequence

In pure sequence, you need to set a sequence of the three or more cards of the same suit. This is the easiest but the tricky sequence because your opposite player can make your sequence difficult by picking that one card to dismiss your sequence. You cannot use any Joker or wild card. 

Let’s understand it by example by these two sequences: 

• 3♥ 4♥ 5♥ (Pure sequence with three cards)
• 3♠ 4♠ 5♠ 6♠ (Pure sequence with four cards)

Impure Sequence

In the Impure sequence, you need to create a sequence of three or more cards of the same suit with one or more Joker cards used.

Let’s understand this sequence with these two sequences: 

• 4♦ 5♦ J♠ 7♦ (J♠ has been used as a wild Joker replacing 6♦)
• 3♠ Q♥ 5♠ 6♠ PJ (Q♥ has been used as wild joker replacing 4♠ and the Printed Joker is replacing 7♠.)

How to Form Sets?

So we have understood that the sequence is really important in Rummy game and to win big, you need to apply at least one type of sequence – pure and impure sequence. A sequence is a formation of three or more cards of the same value but of different suits. In the last segment, we also learned that wild cards can also be used to make your sequence better.

Examples

• 2♥ 2♣ 2♦ (In this set, the valid set is formed three different suits of 2-card) 
• A♦ A♣ A♠ A♥ (Rummy set is formed with four ace cards of different suits.)
• 5♦ Q♠ 5♠ 5♥ (Here Q♠ has been used as wild joker replacing 5♣ to create a valid set.)
• 6♦ 6♣ 6♠ PJ (Printed joker replacing 6♥ to make a valid set.)
• 9♦ 9♣ Q♠ PJ (Here Q♠ has been used as wild joker replacing 9♠ & Printed joker replacing 9♥ to make a valid set.)
• 3♦ 3♣ PJ Q♥ Q♠ (In this 5-cards sat, Printed joker & Q♥ has been used as wild joker which replace 5♠ 5♥ and one more wild joker Q♠ to complete the set.)

How to Play Rummy Card?

These are some easy steps to understand how you can play this game: 

Rummy card game is played between 2 to 6 players with 2 decks of cards. Each participant will get 13 cards and a random card is selected as a wild joker or joker card of the game.

Now the player will get the option of the draw and discard to form the valid sets. The player can also use wild joker or printed joker of the deck. 

So once the player gets 13 cards in a valid two sequences including one pure sequence, can announce and show the set. If his sets are accurate, then he is the winner. 

Tips to Win Rummy Card Game

Rummy game is about tactics. It’s not important to make the sequence but you have to play with other player’s sequences. Let’s break this point with the following tips: 

• Try to make a pure sequence in the beginning because before showing your cards or declaration, the pure sequence is mandatory. 
• Always discard cards with high points like Jack, Queen, King, or Ace. These cards will reduce the point load if you’re losing the game or in other cases, you can replace these cards with wild cards. 
• Try to avoid taking cars from the discard pile. 
• Try to use a smart card. Your sequence should work on the same suit. Use that card smartly. 
• Joker is important in this game, so try to use them as a replacement for the high-value card like Ace, Queen, or King. Joker cannot be used in pure sequence. 
• During the online game, don’t make your declaration hurry, as you should recheck your sets. If you make a wrong set and you press the declaration button then you will lose.
